Happy Winter Solstice tomorrow- I’ll be celebrating Friendsmas and now is the time to begin cooking! Next livestream Mondya morning 9am and Evening 8pm as usual : D
I’m really loving seeing your Khaos characters come to life in your art-style, they look so cute and true to their personalities – even their body shapes shows so much about them. Nay is curvy whereas Amber looks petite. The differences in their facial shapes down to the noses, chins and their lips… god, you really have improved so much since Khaos – it’s wonderful to see!
Now I’m curious as to how Tom & Alex, Charlie & Jamie will look in your art-style haha but first, Nay angst! <3
Now I’m trying to remember… I think I’m right in saying that at this point Nay doesn’t know about Charlie, but Amber does and did from early on
.
I have faith that Amber is cool enough that she won’t out Charlie in any way, but I’m interested to know how she resolves the jealousy issue without resorting to what, some might say, is the easy way.
On a side note… I love, love, love seeing these characters in colour! Tis a new treat and I totally consider these extra comics a wonderful Christmas present.
Thanks, Tab!
Um, what do you mean by “easy way to resolve the jealousy issue”? Charlie being trans doesn’t mean automatically that:
a) she isn’t attracted to girls
b) girls can’t be attracted to her.
I’m not sure what Raven originally intended, but I for one am hoping that Amber resolves this by talking to Nay about her concerns rather than the conversation just being about Amber’s relationship with Charlie. Sexual preferences and attractions aside, I think that could be an interesting talk.
Raven was probably just saying that she hopes Amber is a better person than that and realizes that Charlie’s unfortunate physical state is no reason for Nay not to be jealous, and so as a result doesn’t think it will get her out of this situation unscathed.
Of course it could.. if Nay had that mindset, but it would still be an undesirable direction to go with the comic and Amber’s coming explanation.
And because of the dysphoria, the crappy treatment from the NHS, the mental drain of get trying to get treated and stay sane while you’re waiting. Unfortunate is an understatement, and not just because of how society sees us.
How on Earth did you interpret my typing “unfortunate” in reference to how she was physically born in a negative way? I didn’t say it was wrong, I didn’t say she was a freak, all I implied was that it’s a major source of problems that most people don’t have to deal with, and thus unfortunate, at least compared to cis gendered people.
Honestly… some people really will pick a fight over anything.
Oh, and as a woman who’s trans myself, I’d call just about every aspect of the situation “unfortunate” at the very LEAST, so yeah. >_>
Don’t worry, I got what you meant by ‘unfortunate’. My personal experience with this hasn’t been an easy ride, and it doesn’t help that I don’t have my family on board to help me, but I’ve heard others compare the situation of being trans, of not being born in a body complementary to their gender, as synonymous with a horror story.
So yeah, I gotcha there~
Blimey, sorry. Okay, what I mean by ‘the easy way’:
It COULD be construed as an easy way out of the jealousy issue is for Amber to simply say that Charlie is ‘no threat’ to Nay as she was assigned male at birth but she has, as far as Amber knows, no interest in women.
Obviously that isn’t the easy way because of exactly the points you described, mim. It would also be an incredibly hurtful thing to do, both to Nay and Charlie. But it’s possible that some folk may think that way.
I doubt anybody who reads this comic and takes the time to comment does think that way, but not everybody is the same>
Just wondering, because it’s been a long time since I read Khaos – doesn’t Amber know that Charlie is pansexual?
(Obviously if Amber takes the way of “quickly getting Nay to stop worrying” she might just go with “Yeah Charlie is straight, she dated Jamie and had a crush on Tom for a long time”, but I’m just wondering if Amber knew herself. Especially as Charlie also had a crush on Amber, and Amber is quite perceptive about everyone’s romantic feelings except Nay’s).
I’m choosing to think that the lines around amber’s hand in the last panel, signify her jiggling Nay’s belly. I don’t know why, the thought just amuses me.
I can’t wait for the next page, serious impending drama!
I know that pat! That’s the “hey my mouth is sort of muffled here would you please MOVE so we can talk” pat. It does make for some funny jiggling and it tickles like mad if your partner does it just right.
Nothing kills a moment like questionable envy, parental-homophobia, and a friend’s depression – all brought up in the same sentence! :D
“Nay, are we having sex, or talking about this? Because I can’t do one while my FACE is in your COOCH.”
When was parental homophobia brought up? Did I miss something?
The mention of Jamie leaving maybe?
Nay’s probably constantly a little worried that Amber’s mum will finally break Amber, and that Amber will realize she’s not really interested in Nay.
Well, that’s probably true, but I didn’t notice that particular fear being specifically brought up here.
Oh, Nay. Why must you doubt so, especially during hot sex?

Seconded! Love how everyone looks different, not the types of faces and bodies we often see, and also very very hot!

nothing unfortunate about Charlie’s physical state, except maybe the unfortunate way that the society she lives has given her shit about it.

Does that make sense?
…didn’t mean to open a can of worms there. o.O

Hoping for a little more belly jiggling too. =p
Well, it is Christmas. Amber’s shaking Nay’s belly like a bowlful of jelly! (Sexy jelly).

Amber’s voice probably sounds really muffled in that last panel. I almost expect her to follow up with “I can’t breathe.”
