I’ve realised that the minority monsters comics have dealt with a lot of things about gender but not much about trans issues so this is a nice little comic to make the T in alphabet soup land a little bit larger.
Dang, I want Dr. Kebank to help me out with my transition! 6 months of therapy and a gender dysphoria diagnosis just for my insurance to cover top surgery? How ’bout you just trust me on the whole “actually trans” thing, insurance company?
Yeah. Because you might not be trans and instead you’re just conning them into … No. There is just no way for this to make sense.
I can see why they want a diagnosis before releasing funds, but you’d wonder why the process takes as long as it often does. Do people ever con doctors into thinking they’re trans? And for what purpose?
I spent some time working at the local gender clinic as a student nurse. We actually did have a couple of people who came in who unfortunately were just playing the system – one person came in aiming for androgyny rather than transition, which wouldn’t be an issue if he hadn’t eventually admitted it was “a gimmick” for his music career.
Guessing in the comic ‘verse that isn’t so much of a problem because if they decide they don’t like it they can just go on the waiting list again and turn back. Bit less reversible without magic.
Took me a while to understand the name lol but I like this one, it’s a nice way of saying “how about you go fuck yourself.”
really? I thought he was Mr. Wank Bank….. what is this phrase that means how about you go fuck yourself?
His reply to Fred.
