Rereading these comics is always lovely for me. I really enjoy seeing how messy these kids are. It feels like a raw, real honesty about how a lot of folks grew up like this, in a world where this stuff was kept under wraps much more and was also much less known by the public, depending on where you grew up.
I’m pretty sure I’ve posted before on here at various times in my life about how this comic was one of the first exposures I had to queer people. It was only years later, somewhere in my mid-twenties, that I realized I was pansexual and another year or two to realize I was polyamorous. I’ve dated a transfem enby and now live with my trans lesbian girlfriend. I think this comic really did a lot to help me get to where I am. Every couple years or so, I find myself coming back to reread this because it’s such a good comic but also it’s reminded me of how far I’ve come. I adore your work, Tab. Love you (in a platonic, admiring way).
