Sir, Butler and Boy ~ Sins of the Father ~ Page 8
Me: Oh man the RSI in my 3rd tendon and forearm are really bad right now, better rest it.
Also me: I need at least 3 riddiculous backgrounds in this page.
:D
Though believe it or not these pages are still easier on my hand than using a tablet for an hour? IDK I’m working on breaking my bad habits (holding too tightly, flicking from the wrist instead of using all of my arm etc).
I’ll treat myself to an easy page tomorrow of just beautiful boys with sad faces and massive eyes…
Oh dear…
Not the best way to start a conversation…
Much as I’ve loved wide eyed subby James, it’s a delight to see bratty entitled James again. I’ve kind of missed him.
I don’t know if this is bratty James or more irritated lover and/or employer. He may have family honor and such to uphold told his employees’ families and he can’t do that if he doesn’t know. Plus, in love with John and finding this out from somebody *other* than John would hurt.
I know, but it was kinda none of his business at first, and – while he should have been told later -it’s quite clearly quite a sensitive subject, and not the kind one steamrollers in to like that. He’s doing this because he can (just like he felt he could spy of John and Jefferson.)
Also, he’s doing that whole adorable pout thing along with the “I’m your boss” attitude. Because, yeah, he is their boss, but pulling that out of the hat when he gets upset is a bit bratty thing to do. I’m a total brat and it’s probably how I’d behave, after all.
As an aside, I do adore the way their positioning (half-way up the stairs, lounging/ lower down, flat cap clutched to chest) inverts the power dynamic we know and love.
Arguably, it became his business once he was allowed to join their games.
But I see it less as the brat and more inexperienced. Plus class issues. We tend to forget, I think, that James would be of the gentleman’s class, at least, if not higher. So it’s a guy talking to his servant and lover about something that seriously affects their relationship in what is probably his first relationship.
Because I’m a brat too, but his current scene behavior is more me in my first relationships rather than now. That says inexperience and immaturity and possibly fear/worry (can’t recall if John has admitted feelings for James) rather than just doing it because he can. He’s defaulting to learned behavior.
This conversation is going to hurt. And not in the good way.
the sexiest thing in this chapter so far is the architecture/perspective on this page
i am so ready for MORE ANGST
