Shades Of A 001
The journey of 1000 miles starts with a single step and all that.
All the next pages will be coloured, so bear with me as I get used to that verses a black and white comic!

Looking really nice!
I’m exited to see what will happen :D
SO EXCITED! I’ve never commented before though I’ve been reading Khaos for yeas, but wanted to say how much I enjoy, and am equal parts inspired and entertained by your work. I can’t wait for this new universe to unfold.
Good to see you’re still with us Tab! I’m excited already >.<
I’m excited to see the new comic…Good luck Tab, and yeah for color…
Good luck Tab!!
Oooo! Interesting start. Big fan of your work, Tab! I can’t wait to see how it unfolds. I’m sure it will be far better than E.L. James’ work. :)
Sad to see Khaos come to an end, but glad for the completion of the entire story.
Excited to see where you go with this new comic, can’t wait to see how the story unfolds!
Does this take place in the same universe as Khaos? I know they’re different stories, just wondering how closely we should be paying attention to the backgrounds. ;)
o.O color.
I can’t wait to see what you have planned.
(One comment, when entering a comment the box turns blue with pink text. It’s kind of hard to read. Could you perhaps change this?)
Color! How odd.
(These comment boxes are eyesearing.)
I’m excited :D I’ve been reading Khaos since Tom’s story, eeeee. Can’t wait for this!
loved Khaos, can’t wait to see how this goes (and your 50 Shades B&W comic was hilarious)
As much as I loved Khaos, and as much authority Tab may have on speaking about non-hetero-vanilla sexual experiences, I have to admit serious reservations about this project as currently presented. Derivative works are always fraught with tremendous peril, even when they’re based off of honestly good material–something which precious few people could accuse of “50 Shades of Grey”, the obvious inspiration for the title and the cover page. A one-off joke comic is one thing, everyone and their dog can make a decent joke about that particular book. However, basing an entire new comic concept–even if only in name–on a bizzaro-worldly popular title immediately dates this comic and threatens to color any good intentions of this work with the failures of the other.
I’ll try to keep an open mind going forward and remain optimistic, but I dearly wish that Tab hadn’t chosen that *particular* book with which to make a play on words.
From what I gathered from the livestream, Discord Comics won’t be one long story like Khaos, and will house many unrelated comics, this being the first, but I could very well be wrong.
Keep in mind, not everybody will share the same views as you do regarding the reference.
This story isn’t going to involve the asexual person spontaneously turning sexual is it? I really hope not as its quite hard to find a story with a valid Ace in it who stays that way. -_-
Great start either way though.
Crossing my fingers for kink education. Also maybe a 50 shades parody because that shit is hella abusive.
Also, you can be asexual and still do kinky stuff. I know people who identify as ‘gray asexual’.
I really look forward to this new comic! Also from the description, I’m guessing it will be about a homoromantic asexual, although I could be wrong. I don’t think Tab would do such a thing as “turning him sexual”, he is better than this :)
Comment box is crazy colours! Looking forward to this so much I can forgive the 50 sh*des reference. Also looking forward to a possible Muslim character! (It was rumoured that one would be turning up)
This isn’t going to end up as ‘Asexuals just think they are’ is it? The blurb just sounds a bit skeevy is all, and it’s not something you’d pull with a GLB character.
I’ve been following Tab for a few years now, and I don’t believe he’d do that. I don’t know if this ace character will turn out to be romantically inclined – as many aces are – or if he’ll form some other sort of close relationship with the person he befriends – as many people, ace and otherwise do. That’s why we read a story: to find out how it goes. In any case, I have faith that Tab wouldn’t choose to write about an ace character only to make that ace discover that really he’s not asexual at all. Tab is not that much of a dick.
I hope my spelling is okay, the comment box comes up as magenta on blue for me and I can’t see what I’m typing very well.
The skin colour looks quite off. It doesn’t look white, it doesn’t look tanned, it doesn’t look hispanic… Or like anything really. Other than that, good going. I’m really interested on how you’re going to take this.
I’m pretty sure he’s Middle Eastern…
Dude is Pakistani. But I do think the hair color is too close to the skin color. (Yes I am being a pain. Artistic development!) I do think the skin color could be a bit more saturated too. Tab said is figuring it out? So will wait and see!
I noticed that too, and I think it’s due to the overall color palette being used. Near as I can tell, there’s not quite enough red in the brown to make it look like a flesh tone, and it’s too similar to the wood being used for the desk. It does look like it was a conscious artistic decision though, as the colors as a whole seem mottled and low saturation. Perhaps as an allegory for the character?
Colors!
I found Khaos less than a week ago, and I read the whole thing in 3 days. I count myself lucky to have shown up at the start of a new story. Subscribed!
Is this going to have the same update schedule that Khaos had then?
Colored?! Alas, gradient tool, where art thou?
Khaos was an amazingly moving piece of work and I’m sure this will be as well but the title of it has me worried. I’ve avoided the “Fifty shades of” series ever since I’ve heard of it because it seems to be complete rubbish. However if this is anywhere near as well done as Khaos it will be bloody amazing and vanquish all my worries about the title :3
I’m so ready for more awesomeness! <3 <3
Wow, just when Khaos is finish, already you are starting on a new project! Looking forward to it!
This sounds great already! Fetish club… never been to one myself but hey, sounds interesting LOL
I wish people would stop bitching about the 50 Shades of Grey reference though. Yes, we know you don’t like 50 Shades of Grey, just don’t let your dislike for that series effect your enjoyment of Tab’s comic.
Was Rome built in a day? Did Tabs artistic style on Chaos not continually develop over time and eventually look 100x’s more amazing than the beginning? Stop nitpicking everything, give it a chance, and give it some time.
*Khaos, pardon. I haven’t had my coffee yet.
Really excited to see how this one goes.
As an androgynous individual (Whom everyone assumes to be asexual as well), I’m so glad to see this comic is being created, a lot of people make a lot of wild (and wildly incorrect) assumptions about asexuality. Myself and my trans*friend are really excited to see where you take this, since you done such an incredible job with Khaos, really, we both really admired your work, I think a lot of people unfamiliar with trans* issues learned a lot, you created characters going through this change, not a list of anonymous, faceless facts about transitioning, it was really positive to see, and of course the story arcs were beautifully crafted and portrayed. Its exciting to see you take on asexuality as an issue for this comic and displace all the stupid rumours about it. Maybe I can reccommend this to the people who assume I’m asexual just because I don’t shout out my orientation! Just so they can understand, I may not be sexually attracted to anyone, but, I don’t need to identify as that either, saying nothing can speak volumes, unfortunately sometimes people misinterpret your silence. At any case, they seem to have a wildly vague idea of asexuality, and whether I am or not, I don’t think they should paint labels on people, its like calling someone gay just because you “think” they are, even though they may be bi, striaght, pan, asexual or anything. I hope this comic will explain what it means to be asexual, its not part of the lGBT spectrum, the straight community doesn’t really associate, and A’s are lost in the mix, it would be great to educate people about it, a lot of people think its made up and are incredibly rude about it.
Anyway, that aside, I look forward to meeting these new characters, as much as I adored the Khaos Krew, this is real exciting
I must agree with you on the fact, that people tend to assume things. But personally I think it doesn’t really matter how to describe other people. I see this kind of terminology as a way to find yourself. As long as you feel good with who you think you are, it’s good for me. I fell in love with Khaos because Tab wrote about people getting on good term with their true selves. Their orientation/gender/sex etc were a part of character, their background. Not the other way around. We are people in the first place, not Aces, trans*, strainght.
(If I offenden someone – sorry. I just feel strongly about selfacceptance being the most important thing to avoid being unhappy)
OMG!!! So many colors!!! SO MANY COLORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
