Can also vouch for the “loud music does not cover up smacking noises”. I had an exceedingly inconsiderate suitemate when I lived in the dorms who had ALL of the loud sex. For hours on end. Multiple times a day. For months on end. We could not play music loud enough to drown her out. The ENTIRE FLOOR of the dorm could hear her. The loud music generally made things better except when her and her boyfriend got into some consensual smacking. I’m just glad that my bed wasn’t against the shared wall, unlike my friend who had the room on the other side of Ms. Loudsex, who was regularly woken up in the middle of the night because her bed was shaking so much because of the sex happening on the other side of the wall.
At least JD acknowledged that roommates wouldn’t want to hear loud sex and bought them apologized with food.
I appreciate the subtle (potential) reference to a character being differently abled, especially in the context of sex. I don’t know what the story behind Kayden’s hip is, but I like how JD doesn’t make a big deal about it. As someone with a chronic illness, I’m probably reading too much into JD’s comment, but still… Hooray for acknowledging that differently abled people are sexual beings, too!
I appreciate this, too. I’ve got issues with fibromyalgia, rheum arthritis, spine troubles, a bummed ankle that puts me on crutches once in a while, and a wrist that has been in a brace since August. It takes creativity and some really fun times with finding positions that feel amazing, things you might not try otherwise. Or you lay off the contortions and have some kinky alternative fun. When you find what works for both of you… ooooh yes!
Yes, it’s nice to have such as casual mention that just makes it sound like a part of everyday life. It’s rare that you see it outside of a ‘the poor soul’ or ‘they’re such an inspiration’ context
Cameron beat me to the punch on commenting on Kayden’s hip…If you are reading too much into things due to your chronic illness, then so am I! I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, which affects a lot of my joints, including my hips. Being really flexible might be a lot of fun during smacky-smacky fun times, but when you come down out of sub-space, and the adrenaline is falling, what was fine before is suddenly pretty painful, and not in the good way! I often come out of a session needing my crutches (my backside being too sore for my wheelchair! ).
I would love to see more of Kayden, and other disabled characters!
I’m guessing that the mention of Kayden’s crutches is completely intentional (and fantastically done – in one line, we have “disabled people are just as sexual as abled people”, “mobility difficulties aren’t a fixed state, they can vary in severity depending on loads of factors” and “this character has a disability but it’s just something about them, not everything about them”)
I didn’t “see” all that it could implied but this enlightment makes me add my voice to the “please, more disabled characters visibility :)”.
You’ve got a pretty smart way of speaking about minorities and “sensible” subjects Tab, so, I’d be glad if you could do your magic around this topic too :)
Cheers. No I hadn’t seen the article yet. EDS is a spectrum disorder, and I am thankful I am no where as bad as the author. I mosty just get the super flexibility, the chronic pain, and generalised fatigue
I’m still getting over the mental image of roommate’s face after seeing Kayden hobble out on crutches after night of passionate (and loud) lovemaking ¦D
JD’s last line… I absolutely LOVE that feeling after a good romp!
“Yeah, sorry about that… sort of… Ok, not really, we were having too much fun to feel guilty about it.”
Also reminds me of the lovely (and kind of smug) thoughts I get whenever I get disapproving looks from people if I have hickeys. Oh, gee, I’m terribly sorry I have a fun sex life that includes my partner doing that one AWESOME thing I ask him to sometimes. …ok, I couldn’t even type that with a straight face.

I’m told ball gags don’t help either. Then you just have really loud sex sounds, but with gag.
Sad but true. “mmmf MMMMMMFFFF!!!!” is not actually so much better than “Ohhh YESSSSS!!”
Anwars face in the last segment: priceless. So nice to share other peoples problems

Nah you’re right, Kayden is a character that has an on-off hip issue, it’s just never come up before because he’s always been sitting down!
Thanks for doing such an awesome job representing a differently abled character!

Pssst – just a few days ago cracked ran an article on exactly what you have. Thought you might like the heads-up if you haven’t seen it already.

I love everything about this- Probably especially today because there’s no flashback panel, and I don’t think my heart could have taken the feels.

Yes! OMG I might have to sketch that I am seeing that expression so hard right now and loling.
This page made my life. And JD’s line there at the end? 100% perfect. Tab you are a god.
I just laughed until crying at this page.

Oh my God why is JD so perfect?
That look of being mortified at being overhead, it’s so familiar. I’m getting my own memories of embarrassment back now.
Anwar looks super dee duperty handsome in the last panel.
