Shades After 014
I’m off to J-con this weekend! Last year I did a talk on how to start a webcomic, but this year I’m talking about how I do costume stuff, more specifically my How to build a Loki Costume panel, which you can read the run down of over here.
Unrelated to the comic at all, Tab, that Loki costume is gorgeous. *dies of envy*
“Is he grounded?”
Oh JD, you cheeky little thing you.
TRiG.
LOL, I love JD asking if ‘war is “grounded”, it’s a cleverly subtle dig at mom to remind her that her “baby” is actually a grown adult who can make his own decisions. But I also really feel for JD here freaking out over accidentally outing Anwar, they really didn’t mean for that to happen, they were just trying to be nice and have his boyfriend be at an important event. Glad that it is all cool with Anwar, at least he’s not having to try and hide everything.
JD is super adorable and I’m glad things didn’t get worse. and now I need answer! War explain your “fine”!
Told you naysayers that it would be fine, or at least fine-ish. :P
For some reason I’m always drawn to how you draw hands. at gets said with the characters hands motions. Even Anwars hand subtle in the second panel, and again his waving gesture in the bottom panel. Think it shows more than words do.
I’m just kind of amused that Anwar’s mom is more freaking out over the age difference than anything else. Still worried about her kid (as mothers are wont to do anyway), but less worried about the gender of her kid’s partner. I dunno… it’s just less stressful to read.
I had actually forgotten that Anwar lived with his mom. That changes the dynamic of the previous scenes. Having a parent disapprove (loudly, publicly) about your life choices is painful enough. Having a parent you depend on for room and board disapprove has an additional level of scary.
Ooh, that is an AMAZING Loki costume. I approve. I want to try making one now. For reals. Also, JD is adorable. They truly are a good friend.
*sees Loki costume*
Does…want…!
*coughs*
JD seems really worried to me, rather than snarky.
