Heh, I like the blurring/fade-out of the background in panel two, nice representation of that whole “world dissolves when with that special person” feeling. I don’t think swirly hearts or zip-tone roses would be that out-of-place but then again it is still early in their relationship, maybe save the hearts&roses stuff for a more private moment.

The effect you’re referring to is called “vignetting.”
