Second Serving ~ Page 5
I was worried about this point in the story as Jefferson has no idea what’s going on so there’s consent issues there? I played around with Jefferson having an idea with what was going on, a bit of a wink wink, nudge nudge, but it didn’t have the same impact.
It boiled down to emphasising the fact that during their regular life, if James said he wasn’t feeling it, Jefferson wouldn’t take offence and would just leave him to it, demanding no explanation for Why Not.
And me being me, that kind of open communication with no guilt attached was far hotter than Jefferson deciding not to touch James because he knows John has plans for him.
I agree that no-guilt-attached open communication is hot.
I wouldn’t call it hot but comforting instead. It deepens the relationship and gives it a level of intimacy you don’t normally see in fiction <3
Much hotter. I concur!
Its moments like this that makes this comic my abseloute fave. No crossing lines, no hurt feelings just ordinary healthy understanding, it feels realistic and it adds a sense of comfort
Much hotter. I like to think that John wouldn’t have tasked James with keeping it a secret if it meant Jefferson might have his feelings hurt. But they’re all adults, after all. Sometimes you just aren’t in the mood. Being that comfortable with people is really heartwarming ^_^
