Not sure if it was by accident or not, but I think the like in one of the panels was supposed to be lick?
Not an accident. That is an actual from the quote from the book that Jefferson is holding. I don’t know if it was an original author error or if that was a way to say lick back in the era the book was written.
I think ‘have him like’ is a fantastic turn of phrase- it shows a level of control but also pleasure, so much more than lick.
Ah okay, wasn’t sure, it looked off to me when I read it first time was all.
Don’t get me wrong, I totally love butlers stories, they’re very hot and all. I’ve just got some.. mixed feelings about how there doesn’t seem to be such things as safe sex here. I guess he could have kept his glove on, for instance..? (even if I get why he didn’t want to get his working glove dirty ^^’)
Respectfully, this tasty smut takes place in the Victorian era. While people have sought birth control methods for centuries, the idea of safe sex (i.e., protection against sex-related infection) didn’t really enter mainstream consciousness until very, very recently. So it’s fairly realistic that these three would focus more on emotional safety than physical (besides ordinary hygiene and preventing serious injuries). It’s not as if anything they do will risk pregnancy.
And forgive the nitpicking, but unless latex gloves were invented a lot earlier than I realized, Butler is probably wearing cloth gloves. Wearing them for this sort of, er, punishment wouldn’t really protect either one from germs, and would probably be far more abrasive on Boy’s you-know-what than lubricated fingers.
Fingering (as long as you’ve washed your hands, have well trimmed and filed nails, and don’t have cuts) is much safer than oral or intercourse. I don’t think medical gloves were readily available to the public at that time either. Perhaps the trio is exclusive to each other, too?
It’s a cloth glove so I wouldn’t put that up anywhere! D:
