Bakewell Tart
A classic Bakewell Tart is made with shortcrust pastry, filled with jam and covered with frangipane, and a spongelike filling enriched with ground almonds. A Cherry Bakewell, like the image, adds a layer of fondant and a glazed cherry on top. Lovely.
