Sir, Butler and Boy ~ Pheasant Plucker ~ End
Okay, so I can’t be the only one who prefers stories if I know they have a good ending right? I’ve always preferred a harsh (if satisfying) break up than slowly falling out of love with someone.
I feel like my work is getting that hint of existential dread creeping into it- I know it’s something I’m thinking about a fair bit nowadays. It doesn’t help that I’m writing about 3 people who if they were real would also be long dead by now.
Anyway more on that Monday as we begin the last story: Memories and Maidenheads!
Jesus Christ, Tab, you can’t do this to us. Now, I am a complete angst monkey but if that means what I think it does, I’m probably going to cry.
Agreed. No breaking up!
I had a character I used to RP and one of the relationships that developed – in fact pretty much all the possible relationships – were doomed just because of the setting (similar to this, my character was a servant in Victorian England) and it was interesting to explore that, but also heartbreaking bc dammit my characters are like my children and I want them to be happy
Please, Tab, I beg of you. Give them a happy ending!!
Oh noes, am I going to break? Are you going to hurt me painfully? Should I be waiting for the whole thing to be out to read it? I’d be happy if it ended right about here, with everyone happy than to end things between them.
But happy ending! With lots of love and smut!
At this time, I recall Xena.
and how the only reason I forgave them at all for beheading her at the end, was because they made it amply clear that Xena and Gabrielle follow each other through multiple lifetimes most wonderfully and weirdly all the way up through present day.
I honestly won’t watch shows that do any kind of apparent shipping until I’ve waited a few seasons AND quiz the fans, “hey, did they die? or were they horribly broken up for cheap drama?”
cause it’s happened just too many damned times.
(referring loosely to the list on autostraddle that started out with 60 er so bisexuals and lesbians who were killed for so called “drama” on tv, that quickly ballooned to excess of 180)
anyhoo.
that said. No, you’re not the only one who goes hunting for happy endings. (i’m a crazy hunter) :-D
I mean seriously??? Can anyone out there tell me of a lesbian or Bi couple that ended well on tv? (bonus points if they’re female, but I’ll take males at this point) like, they made it to the finish of the show without rape/murder/torture/stupid ass lets get married, no wait fuck you type plots?
annnnnyhoo.
*eyes my boys nervously*
Don’t be cruel now Tab.
:-p
I apologize at this time only referring to the data I know about female couples, but that is my demographic :-D
I am willing to surmise however, that the male half of our little rainbow has just as much representational trouble in tv.
dammit America, seriously….why? why why why? haven’t we outgrown this crap already?
How’s the Tv over there???
It might all change in the second season, but first season of the supernatural teen drama heartless, ends well for the lesbian/bi couple.
well, I love Sense8 for it’s uncontiversal couples. Including one very happy lebsian duo, that totally rocks it’s realtionship in an crazy grownup way ^^
I thank you both for suggestions :)
I will totally start looking into this :) yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay ;)
“Aww, such pretty backgr-WHAT THE OMINOUS WHAT.”
Love you anyways, Tab <3
