Sir, Butler and Boy ~ Pheasant Plucker ~ Page 6
I’ll be at Doki Doki the Manchester Japanese Arts Festival this weekend giving a talk on different types of Cosplay Skits around the world (fun fact, I once produced and choreographed this skit monstrosity) as well as having a my normal Stand Du Homo. Come say hi if you’re about!
Now back to the page:
I have a hard time drawing pecs because my chest is so flat and made of ribs so it’s hard for me to figure out the movements. I’m the same with this mythical 6 packs all these men in magazines seem to have. Is it weird that I’ve never actually touched one in real life? I mean the world of erotica tells me that they’re “Rock hard abs” but what does that even feel like?
(Feel free to share if you know…)
Ugh, erotica has a lot to answer for – no-one’s abs are rock hard unless they’re tensing, and even then, it’s not rock-rock, more like comfortably turfed limestone. I mean, they feel GREAT though, there is something about the soft flesh and hair/solid muscle combo that drives me wild – but it’s in that contrast. If it were rock solid, it’d be dull and kinda painful to rest your head on. But it does give, with movement and breath and touch. And it can be soft as well, especially where the muscle goes down beneath the hips, if the person is lying down. I just love six packs, and yeah. Sorry.
Depending on build/body type, a six pack will also hollow out when anperson strecthes, and go in to folds when they bend. So, it isn’t there all the time, or not in a serious defined way.
Also, John’s face in panels 3 and 4 is the loveliest thing. That blush is gorgeous.
Haha ‘comfortably turfed limestone’
This is a great description. The play of solid vs. soft is definitely a draw!
I like the lack of pecs and sixpack actually, theres soooo many comics with superfit men, I like more average bodies for variation. It fits the time that the comic takes place as well.
Yeah- from what I remember body building didn’t really take off until the 1920s (and even then it was mainly an excuse to sell magazines of half naked men)
The Victorians were the first generation to see an unfit/unhealthy body as a reflection of an unfit/unhealthy mind and soul. But this didn’t go much further than not being fat, which meant sloth. Some gentlemen would take up sports, but none of those sports would result in a sixpack (unless genetics mean you get one super easy).
*lol* I’m loving this page, and much makes me giggle and smile.
John having a pillow across his face to lower the sounds. They’re in the middle of nowhere. Maybe something to grab during James using his talented skills.
Jefferson, who is clearly in a good, teasing mood, despite staying in the serving role.
James is just having a good time, with that little heart in last panel showing how much :)
Aaaagh that heart in the last panel <3 <3 While I do love rough and/or kinky stuff, it's soooooo important to me that partners truly love each other and show their sweet affections <3
I figure John as a simple, yet lovely bear.
in that physical image, he is perfect :)
(so don’t worry about any abs)
