Sir, Butler and Boy ~ Pheasant Plucker ~ Page 5
I’m pretty pleased that the shadows in the story around the house actually works for the sun setting and rising- go back and read if you don’t believe me!
I used to be a morning person and woke up for 6am every morning for college, but that was a) ten years ago and b) back before you got decent internet on phones so I had to get to my desk in order to read my daily dose of pornography. Now I wake up around 8am but the real struggle is getting out of bed once I’m on my phone…
Any morning people out there? What are your secrets?
I used to get up 6:30 every day for school all bright and peppy and at this point I am so confused as to how bc these days if I don’t have a schedule to keep to I always ending becoming basically nocturnal @-@
To get out of my bed without being stuck in it with my phone, I made my sports watch my alarm, and I turn my phone off and put it out of reach. It has worked so far, but there is still the matter of not lazing around too long in bed. :p
Don’t own a smartphone.
But failing that, as suggested above, put it on the other side of the room.
Yep, this one has helped me a lot
Ha, I’m a night bird – always have been. But now I have to wake up at half six every day whether I like it or not. Yay.
My advice is tea (not coffee) – something light and without milk or sugar, like Earl Grey or Keemun – and lots of it, plus one of those daylight alarm clocks. The sunset mode has really helped with my insomnia, too.
Also, naps, if you can.
As to getting out of bed? Nope, sorry, can’t help you.
I work from home, so the earlier I get started, the sooner I finish my workday. Cats are very useful for reinforcing getting up at the wee hours in the name of feeding. Whether or not it’s a work or sleeping in day.
I can recommend the cat tummy-alarm system, I have three cats who will take turns stepping on my face and meowing incessantly until breakfast happens. The hard part is not falling back into bed afterwords. If anyone knows a trick for that, let me know.
I have animals – goats, ducks, dogs, horses. They wake up when the sun does, and consequently, so do I :) Highly recommended; the furriest alarm clock you’ll ever get (side effects may include goat babies, puppy cuddles and wanting to die every morning for a solid hour before starting to feel human).
I’m not a morning person but I use this alarm app that forces me to get out of bed because the alarm won’t turn off until I scan certain barcode on the side of my conditioner. It works really well when I need to get up at 5 am. After that though.. unfortunately it requires the force of will to stay away from the bed. Usually I try to move to couch.
That’s amazing! Might try something like this with my breakfast cereal, but then I worry about how it works when you’re away on holiday
What are they eating here? What is dipped in what?
Page 2 of the comic, my dear :3 They be eating Pheasant (Bird). The dip is probably an homemade gravy of some sort.
Oh, so pheasant is a bird and not a fancy wordplay for “peasant” to go well with plucking! The more you know. I’m not native and I didn’t think this funny word was an actual word :)
Something that sort-of works: drink lots of water before bed. If you hit the magic number, your bladder won’t wake you before morning but you will be VERY motivated to get up once awake. (My body just uses it as an excuse to wake me early, so I can’t do that unless I want to sleep five hours or fewer.)
My go-to is something tasty in the crock pot the night before. I wake up and it smells like breakfast, and then I have to get up because if I go back to sleep it might overcook. Though that’s not always an option, it helps when it is.
