Here’s the minority monster for May! I tweaked their name a bit and had a couple of redesigns. It’s pretty hard to think of a wolf design that’s unique but I grabbed some inspiration from 80’s hair and an outfit that could be worn in both forms.
Vote for June here!
What monster should I do next?
As a quick note, I’ve now got ladies fit small and medium back in stock for the Sir Fabulous t-shirt!
The voting page bugs for some reason
I’m sorry for my complete ignorance here but I’m having trouble understanding which “minority monster” this is. It sort of reminds me of Mx Alex, the Genderfluid Pheonix, except with a specific kind of kink/personality each gender has/prefers?
I was already kind of familiar that genderfluid people experience a personality shift that accompanies the gender shift (I have a friend of a friend who’s more confident and outgoing when they’re female and a bit shyer but completely affectionate when they’re male) but I always assumed whatever personality shift that happened varied from person to person anyways. So is this a more specific branch of genderfluidity that isn’t discussed much, or is it something entirely different?
Hope I didn’t offend anyone. I’m just really curious about this particular comic and don’t know what’s a tactful way to go about it ._.
I’d say the character is genderfluid, as they express both a male and female personality, but the emphasis seems to be on ‘switch’ as in Dominant, submissive or switch. It’s a BDSM term for someone who likes to scene either as the Dom or the sub. It’s also something certain people insist doesn’t exist ‘You’re a sub really, you just need the right Dom’ etc, and definitely the minority within BDSM.
And don’t worry, you weren’t offensive. ALWAYS ask questions.
Yep, this is more about being a Switch in the BDSM sense with a hint of Bigender where they’re very distinct personalities.
Switches are treated in the kink community with a similar vein as bisexuality- people ‘Don’t get it’ or ‘find it weird’ or believe that someone ‘Isn’t truly dominant if they’re not dom all the time’. Which is all bull and worthy of debunking.
Ah, thank you both! Yeah, this most definitely went over my head because I’m not very cultured about the kink scene and never heard that particular term before, though I find it boggling that people would deny the existence of it.
People have preferences, le gasp! >.>
they could also be Bigendered ^^
I had no idea switches were thought of like bi people often are, and let’s face it, no one deserves to be told part of them “isn’t real.” I started hearing about bdsm and switches came up pretty early, I figured ‘some people like to be in charge, sometimes they’re feeling a little more not, I get it.’ Don’t think I’d feel like that, but I understand.
Kind of makes me think of DID since they seem to be two individuals in the same body more or less. She seems to be referring to the wolf as someone else.
Probably unintentional though since that’s way complicated to do for a cutesy minority comic thing.
Speaking from personal experience, it could also just be that it’s easier for them to explain to other people as two individuals. I’m a bigender switch, and while I always feel like I’m the same person, I sort of have two different personas in a sense depending on what gender I’m feeling at the time.
I don’t think I’ll ever get to see the trans feminine Troll b/c no one votes for her :( I feel like if people knew what she is they’d be more likely to vote for her?
I always do :/
Here is the other fan of the trans feminine troll! ;-) If you want to know which monster falls hopelessly down, just vote with me. I always stick to the least wanted!
I look forward to the fairy dominatrix. I imagine it’s pretty hard to be taken seriously in such a role when one is six inches tall and fluttering around giving off sparkles.
OMG I so want to see that now! But they all look like interesting characters, so whatever gets chosen we have to miss out. :(
I can’t pick they all look SOOOO good. I love the minority monsters.
